Butch had 2 good recruiting classes....not winning big caused his last couple classes to suck. This year’s class will actually have the highest average rating per player than any of Butch’s. This isn’t a bad class. It’s pretty solid. Didn’t fill all the holes but it did address the offensive line in a big way. Pruitt’s priorities in 2020 needs to be elite linebackers and defensive lineman.
Butch Jones best 2 classes were bloated with kids that got sold a bill of goods and never finished here. His 14' class finished 7th (247) with 32 signed. The 6 classes in front of him averaged 25 signed. His 15' class finished 4th (247) with 30 signed. The 3 in front of him averaged 24.
Not sure about averages and stars and all that, but the ‘15 and ‘16 teams were loaded and he signed most of them. Lying every chance he got pretty well ensured he couldn’t sustain that, but he definitely got some good players to Knoxville.
Darnell Wright is a lock. We are missing out on all the rest of the big name guys. Sounds like they are still trying to sign one more no matter what. I’d watch Kenney Solomon and Jahkeem Green. The early signing period has killed what once was a national holiday in February.
He seems Auburn bound. I think we're signing Darnell then using remaining spots for our transfers. We might be able to blueshirt then count Harris towards 2019, too. Then you save spots for the 2020 class and any grad transfers.
