He’s no Michael Vick, but he has the ability to scramble. The problem is he is totally unaware of when to do so, like when a blitz is coming from his blind side.
Agree on the instincts. I'm wondering if all those shots he took last year aren't lingering in the back of his head. When he had time Sat that he wasnt used to having he still didnt look comfortable. As ill prepared to be an SEC level QB as he appears I'm still not sure you get better with one of the other guys. It's a risky decision to ponder this early.
His pocket presence, field awareness, ability to read a defense and to not stare down his single read would like to have a word with you, sir.
Why are we - myself included - all talking about the symptoms and not the disease? Guarantano just isn’t very bright, instinctually or intellectually. That’s from whence every problem flows, and why there’s no hope that he can improve beyond his consistently terrible level.
You’d think that with as many sacks as he’s taken, he’d shame Peyton in his ability to pick up a blitz and rival Marino in his ability to get the ball out quick. But then every game, it becomes even further obvious that he can’t do either.
First play of game. This ball shoulda been out of his hands in the window vs 2 deep. Fairly easy throw where the wr is right now.
2nd play of game. This ball should have touch and thrown like a bubble. We have a blocker on basically everyone for the first time in 3 years and he throws a bullet that ty has to catch but also probably saw it 3 feet before it got to him
Here he is giving the run play away for the 5th time early on. Lbs were back, then stepped up to run blitz. Hes been giving away plays foe 2 years. Now, it appears to me he turns over his left shoulder to say something to the rb and rb goes left. He turns his head right and rb goes right. Im not making this up. Took 5 minutes of film
