I think it can't be forgotten that with Trudeau, we are talking freaking 2001. son of the PM. there's no way on Earth he wasn't well aware of what he was doing and how it is an an insulting action. Alabama gov could have been legitimately ignorant. Northam.... doubtful. Trudeau? oh, he knew.
I don’t go on Facebook unless my wife tells me that there is something I have to look at or respond to. I’ll never be ashamed of being an American, or in my bedrock belief in its absolute goodness and exceptionalism. I don’t give a shit what anyone thinks of it, or what they assume that makes me.
I can’t believe that we’re taking opposite sides on this. I don’t so much care when he did it, but that he is honest about how terrible it was and won’t do it again. I’ve got a larger allowance for corrective redemption than I sometimes admit.
I mentioned this during the Biden Busing Controversy, but I find it hard to gin up any sort of outrage for politicians doing bad stuff 20, 30 years ago. Trudeau doing it 15 years ago is more problematic, but I still care little about this issue, unless they still feel it was acceptable.
I don't disagree with you on the outcome, just find it incredible someone in his walk of life could be so.... that.
Did you just imply a white man is a man of color? Tenny about to start deleting shit and going all Tenacious PJ on this thread.
What if you didn't know you were accused until 30 years later, when you were nominated for a position
We know in that case (things that happened well in the past) that unless there are pictures or physical evidence, it didn’t happen. Al Franken is what happens when there are pictures (of far less serious accusations - or at least the accusation related to the picture).
