Les Miles is the best option for this situation. Fulmer would be ok with that type. He is a half decent motivator and you know he would like another shot in the SEC...and the easy side too. He would take it. I would not have done this 3 years ago but These are dark times. I know he could get 8-9 wins. And Les has actually won titles and beat Saban. Resume guys resume!
I mean come on. Bama, GA, lsu in top 5 and aub, FL in top 10. Outside of someone like Leach or another screw loose, having to play 3 or 4 of those and usually in a row isnt something many coaches will sign up for, as evidenced with cosches turning us down. Its been 3-4 years of getting your ass beat then fired. Families involved, wives. %'s lean towards failing and firing. Only way to stop the cycle is Stoops, Urban or I hate to say it, Freeze, imo. Otherwise we are chasing 4-8 wins and are Illinois
Last time I wanted Matt Campbell when I wasn't fantasizing about Gruden. I still think he would be a good fit. I like Leach also for what he would bring. At least we would be entertaining. At this point I would take entertaining. I would also take Les Miles because I think he would have a bit of a chip on his shoulder. If we were "reaching" for another young head coach I wouldn't hate a Matt Rhule hire but wouldn't be tremendously excited either. Started at Temple in 2013 at 2-10 then went 6-6, 10-4, 10-3. At Baylor he was 1-11 in 2017, 7-6 last year, and has started 3-0 this year. If he could win 8 or 9 this year I think that would be a pretty good improvement for what he took over there. I would sell my soul for Urban Meyer for 4 years before he starts having heart issues again. Because he could bring us back to the top quickly and hopefully we could make the right hire after him. Obviously, there are quite a few other coaches that would deserve a look. I don't have an unnatural hatred for coach Gomer like I did for Lyle or Precious but I don't think he's the guy. IF he trots out 2 at QB for the Georgia game he can go straight to hell.
Im still on board with Pruitt for now, but keep an eye on Wilcox. Hes having himself a good year so far.
