this exactly. wilcox is one of these guys who likes anonymity. he's not overly ambitious either. wasn't even sure he wanted to be a head coach. if he wins big cal will pay him competitive money too.

 

he's apparently open to it. i see no reason he can't run a run first offense at tenn and win big.

 

let's see how he does against teams that can actually play pass defense.

 

You cannot run the triple option week in and week out in the SEC. You just can't. And I know people said the same at Ga Tech, but QBs will die in the SEC running it.

If he wants to morph it into a spread option game, then we are on to something.

The man can just coach football.

 

i'm suggesting he run something closer to what auburn runs. tenn can recruit to that style of offense IMO

i think he's a great coach.

 

Maurer could easily be putting up the same blah passing numbers as Nix, and also would also be able to extend drives and plays with his feet, which then invigorates the entire offense and defense. Then again Malzahn is pretty gutsy and doesn't give af. Pruitt doesn't have the balls to pull that as a 2nd year coach.

 

I would take him today.
