Marshawn Lloyd officially out again Saturday, which is a big loss for them. I’m beginning to wonder if he’s just opted out for the year, and Beamer is protecting that info from a PR standpoint.
I can respect it for both of them. I don't like it, but if I were in his shoes it would be a logical move to protect my and my families best interests. I remember back in the day when Peyton Manning getting a million insurance policy for his senior year was big news. Certainly an outlier, but think how massively insufficient that policy actually was. Comically.
He may be protecting himself. If Lloyd’s thrown in the towel, that just further ratchets up the heat on Satterfield and the offensive coaching staff. As bad as they’ve been, they cling to “culture” and “positivity.” Best player quitting would put an awfully big dent in that narrative. But I’m just speculating.
he played against Georgia…and he’s playing tomorrow night, as far as I know. I think him sitting out against Mizzou was because the field was wet, and it was a footing concern with the ankle. I may be misinformed though.
I would if I was him. Team is doing fine without him and he can make a buttload of money. Godspeed if he is, I say
Beamer just told Holly Rowe," Tennessee has not played on the road at night!" He is counting on that being an advantage.
I don't have any reason to doubt what has been said officially and on here. In short, your post about SCar's player just got me thinking about Tillman's situation. I did see where he was supposed to be evaluated today/tomorrow with regards to playing so we'll see I suppose. Not gonna lie, like a few others have said, I could totally see him opting out of playing until the Vols get into the playoffs.
Ive thought about this before and all I can figure is the conference came down with orders to not try this tactic. It's embarrassing.
