The Never-ending College basketball season thread

Most stud aau kids don’t play or face defense and you can’t learn it overnight unless built like a mashack where it’s in you automatically. Playing against 23 yr old men takes its toll too. You think you are strong at 18 then get to 23 and find out you weren’t.
Bet Cal uses a different approach at Arky but with portal every team it seems will have new faces regardless

Dealing with UK fans is not fun, guys. There is no joy. Nothing is good enough.

 

They will probably expect the same level of recruiting classes that Cal was bringing in, just with winning the tournament every year. I think you need a Billy G to go in there and recalibrate.

The plane went up to see Hurley (or Pitino?) It will be funny seeing it criss-cross the country to a half dozen places and finally end up landing in Opelika

 

Probably all going to follow Cal to Arky except Travis Perry, who would’ve picked UK if you were the coach.

 

Donovan would probably say no. Then it'd be pearl. I think if auburn paid he could say no.

And if he says no... well from there it gets very grim.

NBA regular season is over Sunday. Mitch would be wise to wait until Monday, go to Chicago and beg Billy D to come.

 

The longer this goes on the harder it will be to put together a roster and the higher the dumpster fire of the fan base climbs

 

Make the right hire, not the fastest hire. Right now Billy D is the best option on the table for them.

I mean, I hope they end up with Kenny Payne, I'm just saying what I would do in their situation.

 

I think Donovan knows better than to go there.

While I am not a basketball aficionado in any sense of the word, I would imagine that it is easier to win at basketball at just about anywhere vs football. For every Boise St in football, there are a dozen St. John's and Georgetowns out there. Why would you go to Kentucky and their insane fanbase when you can just as easily win it all at UCONN or Gonzaga and make more than enough money so that your family never has to worry for anything ever again?
