Best hire would be throw crazy money at Sampson and tell him he can coach as long as he wants as long as he retires with the program on solid footing. That guy can coach and recruit. Had he not [uck fay]ed up at Indiana he would have a few titles by now there. Age is his biggest problem right now.

Holy shit, Jon Rothstein reporting that KY is actually closing in on hiring Mark Pope

 

Thamel and Norlander also going with it. I’m gobsmacked that they would hire a guy who has never even win a game in the tournament before. I guess Mitch Barnhart put all of his eggs in the Scott Drew basket.

 

To be fair, no tournament wins is pretty much how Kentucky rolls these days.
