Interesting that Skeeter on VN said UT coaches thought UCLA would be a player for him. He said this a while ago and didn't think UT really had a chance. I think that guy has a good feel for what's actually happening, unlike their "insiders."

This kid lives like 4 miles from USC's campus. UCLA (and in particular the rose bowl) might as well be Siberia. Historically they've almost never gotten anyone from that area.

 

I would rather him go to UCLA than anywhere else on his final list

if we can land Sawyers which I think we will, and pull Emmanuel Smith, wouldn't that give us the top ten players in the state, of whom all are 4 stars?

I would like to get Smith too and Vandy just lost ANOTHER commit to Wake Forrest today. Derek Mason must be a shitty recruiter, even Dooley kept a lot of Kiffin's guys when he arrived.

I think I saw the coverage on the news, and later the dash cam video.

 

Why take a chance on Vandy AND a new coach? Just too much risk if you have other options.

 

Some of that is Mason making room for more players in the 2015 class

I agree but their fans that think they can plug in Franklin's replacement and continue winning 8-9 games are about to be in for an awakening. I didn't think Franklin would keep that up, much less a new coach trying to switch to a 3-4.

 

Ainge's discussion of Karl Dorrell was entertaining last week. Said he was the worst recruiter of anyone who came after him in high school.

 

mason has all the personality of paint drying. he's a good coach though.

 

dorrell actually recruited fairly well at first. another boring man though.
