How could this happen? Partly because Chinese Law is such that a person bringing such a case to the hospital is financially accountable for the costs.

 

I regret watching the video of that. Something that will haunt you for a while.

 

Heard about it but won't watch it. I realize cultures and customs are different, but that's a kid.

 

Chinese culture isn't THAT different. The Chinese public is absolutely livid and outraged over this.

 

Rightfully so. I'm ignorant to their culture, honestly.

 

I'm just saying this is viewed as totally unacceptable and evil (the phrases "no morality, a nation without morals" is being used by the Chinese to describe what they just witnessed. They're very disturbed by this and a larger trend towards selfishness, the god of greed, etc. that has been setting in since the China first started becoming more capitalist internally.

** I am not blaming capitalism for this at all, I am just saying they are undergoing a lot of social change and doing a lot of soul-searching these last couple decades.

 

Kid was run over three times not twIce.
