What you and many others may be overlooking is the toll this extreme polarization is taking on this country. Trump has clearly demonstrated he isn't changing, and he thrives on division. He foments it. It's not getting better in the next 2 years, and will likely worsen. I believe a majority of the electorate will be beyond ready for it to end; it's simply not sustainable. We'll do it peacefully or ugly. I'm betting on the former. She's known, basically trusted and an anti-Trump. A way out.
I don't think Trumps thrives on division, he has thrived in spite of it. Democrats are the ones who have waged a full scale war on all things Trump. They did it in 2016, they doubled down like nothing we have ever seen before for 2018 midterms. I cannot fathom them walking away from the strategy for 2020. Dems need a purge. You need to revisit the 2016 election. It was massive, it was decisive. He should have never stood a chance. The DNC rigged against their own party. All the chips were put in to the Hilary basket. It was a slam dunk. Hence the outrage given the results. He ran on ideas and won, against all odds. He can run on results in 2020, against lesser competition. The math is easy here.

If he would have taken down Trump in his quest with Stormy the Dems wouldn't have even had a primary. Even further had he taken down Kavanaugh as well they would have held the Democratic national convention a few days after his parade.
