Hard to complain about how nicely this sets up for us. Florida at home in December. We don't get anybody after their bye week. We get Georgia the week after they play Auburn and bama the week after they play Georgia. All things considered, I'll take it.
It makes me think the SEC needs to throw their weight around more in scheduling. They need to tell every SEC team when their OOC game weeks are. Sync up the byes.
I like the fact that Auburn, A&M and Florida are all late. I don’t know why but just feel like we will improve with the coaches we’ve got as the season goes on. Georgia early isn’t bad either. Their offense will still suck at that point. Bama is probably an L no matter when it falls.
I'm excited. There's a lot of unknowns in general, but Tennessee itself doesn't have a lot of questions. There's two home run hitters at tailback, the oline goes 7 deep without Cade, the dline is deep, the dbs are all good. There's a lot of talent at linebacker, short on experience The qb play will decide the season. Is the floor bad JG or the JG we saw against Mizzou? The ceiling is Harrison Bailey playing like a 5 star freshman. The team stays healthy and COVID free, it's a 7 or 8 win season.
I like Keyton, Johnson and Palmer at receiver. A freshman or two emerges, that's a dangerous group. Tight end has bodies, but not a lot of experience.
One thing I've read, with all the "virtual coaching" going on, everyone knows their jobs better before they hit the field. It's more reinforcing than teaching now.
I wouldn't be shocked if Shamburger leads the team in sacks and interceptions. I think there will be three running backs over 500 yards rushing Brandon Johnson leads the team in receptions, Palmer in receiving yards
What can Banks bring to the table is intersting question for me? Does he get back on the field early? Does he even contribute this year ?
Gibbs is who I have high hope for. All the early reports of him looking so good had me hyped up early on.
You can tell it's August. JG breaking out these babies. But, for the first season in a long time, I am inclined to agree. I'll still be an inconsolable ass after the first loss.
