Players and Kelly trying to rob the staff forced their hand. They had every intention of doing a coaching search.

It sounds like a movie plot, will be interesting to see how things go.

This Freeman guy seems like his time has come for a shot, but that’s a tough one to break in with

They basically wanted to send a message to Kelly. I am now very interested in how Kelly's staff ends up looking.

Exactly. Its kind of like Kiffin to the Raiders.

I can't articulate a rationale, but I have a feeling that Kelly at LSU is not going to go smoothly.

The expectations will be immediate 10+ win seasons, and I don't know if that is going to happen.

    I think he fails miserably.

For that money he better win right away. Schools are going to be [uck fay]ed soon, I fear, with these huge contracts.

He now has Lincoln Riley on has schedule and has to play Ohio State his first game next year. It may be a more of a 9 win season next year but after that 10 is definitely the number or he will be shown the door.

ND is about to find out if it was Brian Kelly or his hiring abilities.

With as much money as the average Power 5 college football team generates, I don't see it.

Probably. I have been thinking college football was [uck fay]ed since Spurrier broke the $1million mark.

Their risk of premature death measurably decreased when he left town.

Jack broke out the checkbook and I think most of his staff knows Kelly will not get the same type of treatment at LSU as he did at ND. Also a few of them have been there 12 years and have really rooted into the community. Elston is one of those guys.

Fitting that he is coaching in Death Valley now.

Every time I think about how the locker room is going to react to this transition, I just cannot imagine it's going to go well. You are going from, by all accounts, a coach players enjoyed, to a guy who once looked his QB in the eyes after a great game and told it "it's all my ******* doing."

I just...............don't see this going over well.

Even Colorado State considers losing to Vanderbilt a fireable offense. Steve Addazio is out.
