My hope is he will want to stay and build something special here since we hgave him his first shot. We definitely have any resource he needs to be successful at the highest level. ...But he is a bammer at heart so I guess we'll see.
That was my fear when we hired him. If he was going to be successful, he'd be really hitting his stride when Saban was moving on and he'd be option number 2 on their list behind Dabo, who's likely to stay at Clemson. Would be the most Tennessee thing ever to stumble through the darkness for more than a decade only to find a coach that is successful and then leaves for Alabama. I may quit sports at that point.
I've been told that he's already accepted a handshake deal to be the Bama coach next season, and all these recruits will be leaving with him to create a super-Bama class.
That makes sense, but I put myself in his shoes and Tennessee comes calling while I'm coaching at Alabama and it would be almost impossible to say no.
My official stance on Pruitt to Bama. "Go on Bama. Hire the coach that lost to Georgia St. and we'll attract someone with the massive amount of talent he assembled."
I won't worry about CP leaving until Fulmer isn't the AD. If this thing is rolling under CP, Heavy ain't letting him go to Bama or anywhere else without a damn fight.
