Akron had 20 additional shots (but 14 less FTs, so maybe more in the 12-13 range). We aren't doing a good job there.
He has grown so much as he's stayed in the program but his mentality is really still not there if he doesn't have a clear edge in the matchup.
+9 turnovers, +4 offensive rebounds, so +13 total. The turnovers is a place we should be able to create an edge and haven't since the very early stages.
Some of this game is us not getting him the same easy looks that they're getting their big guy. We are bringing Aidoo up super high to help off their screens, and he's getting lost on the recovery. They're doing the exact opposite, sitting back and letting us shoot long two's. I'm a broken record, but we have to force the issue more.
Mashack has to be smart here. They might still [uck fay] him over, but don’t make it easy for them.
They're just building a wall six feet from the basket and daring us to shoot over it. Hard to force the issue into that. We should be able to shoot over it--midrange stuff usually isn't a great shot at the college level, but when they're giving it to you from inside 12 feet. . .
Oh look, DK got to the rim and forced a foul. How have we not been doing that from the very beginning of this game?
