It’s not the same job it was in the 20th century. They’ll get a handful of those NY 4/5 stars on the Pitino name alone, but I don’t think they’re about to hang any new Final Four banners or anything.

 

I don’t follow NYC hoops at all so I don’t know the answer to this, but it seems real odd that guys like Zeigler and Awaka were never really on the radars of the St. John’s and Seton Hall’s of the world. Zeigler I can kind of understand if you’re fixated on a certain physical archetype, but Awaka looks like he was chiseled from granite and was the Gatorade POY last year. Their loss has been our gain.
