    I've never met a blitz that I didn't like Cardinal. I'm a pressure guy.

    Have a good one!

Another thing I would like to get is a bag full of money to have handy next year when we can Dooley. Help make sure we get the right coach this time. MERRY CHRISTMAS ALL!

Jay sounds like a 4-4 man

You are a smart guy. I have adjustments for a double tight wishbone and a no back 5 wide without having to change personnel. Very flexible D, imo. I can also go with a 4-3 but do prefer a 4-4.

I like to mix it up, but a 44 stack is my base. I will go to a gap 8, 6-2, diamond 7, and 5-3 with wide tackles. You can do all of that from a base 44 very easy.

Sounds like me. Plus you can bring pressure from anywhere on the field ans still have your FS free playing over the top 95% of the time. 1 thing I don't like is to lose my FS too often. Occasionally is ok, but you are asking for trouble if you do it too often.

If you have shutdown corners and a good safety 4-4 is the only way to go, yeah?

With Shutdown corners and good safeties you can play any defense.

A 44 is great because it's simple and you don't need a ton of talent. Hell you can put a cheerleader in a gap and teach them to dive and bear crawl through it.

This is a perfect response. 2 shut down CBs and stud safeties will let you play a 5-3 stack or even a 6-2 stack to some degree. You just man them up and blitz like crazy.

We're of the same mindset, but I'm more of an offense guy.

Then you want me to move my safety out of the middle, don't you?......:)

I think it takes more takent to run a 6-2 than any other defense. You have to have two great de's and two fast headhunters at linebacker that can read.

A local high school team I watch a lot runs what they call a 4-2-5, but for all intents and purposes its a 4-4 with two oversized safeties that play on the line of scrimmage every down. They're good enough to drop into coverage but against most of their competition that may only happen 10-15 times a game.

Not at all, I run a striaght T. He can tackle my guy after 8 yards all day.
