I get the point, but to be fair, the way I see it is that sometimes folks act against their own self-interest. I'm guilty of that too often.
If the government was truly concerned about people acting in their own self-interest, cigarettes would've long been banned before incandescent bulbs.
Right thing to do. Or or, Phillips has put a lot of money into lobbyists. Amazing how holy some get when it is profitable.
Shouldn't that be on the bulb makers to sell their product instead of the government forcing a high price product that the majority of people don't want as their only option. In the grand scheme of things it isn't a huge deal, but is just a reflection of our broken system of crony capitalism that is hurting our country.
Switching to LED. Outdoor lights had CFl flood lamps, and one burst last week. And as I was carrying it to the shed, I couldn't help but notice the pleasant aroma following me around. And then I remembered. It popped and leaked, even though it was encased. Happens about twice a year, one way or another.
I also threw that ****er in the trash, because who has time to recycle a bulb? So take that, environment.
Saved about $7 this year, though. So hurray for government for environmentalists thinking people are actually responsible with waste management.
