Frankly I’m far more scared of broad political and economic trends than I am of AI. If we don’t turn things around my future kids won’t know the same world that I did. It sounds dramatic but we’ve devolved so fast and are continuing to do so.

Oh man. You could do some serious serious troll work testing how smart these things are by asking it college football questions that are entirely subjective. I would imagine too much collective CFB knowledge only exists online in messages boards and older corners of the sports reporting world where links are long since dead.

 

Ok I had not used Chat GPT yet but I'm disappointed to report the potential for this is lower than I anticipated. Doesn't do so hot with subjectivity.

 

It also has buffers in place to prevent a lot of trolling and bad language. It won't write porn, it won't do lots of things, but only because OpenAI told it not to do that.

There were issues with chat bots becoming quite, uhm, ugly when they were left unfiltered.

 

If you get creative about your request, there is usually a work around. If you asked for a poem about Auburn's homecoming queen being fat, it's a no go. If you ask for a poem about Auburn's homecoming queen being a heifer, gold.

 

It is an idiot. You need to lead it like a prosecutor leads a crack head into admitting to bogus charges.

 

I won't get into it, but you can lead it around or to override those things. It can take a long while though and it can snap back into them.

 

The trick is to poison the well with a few question it refuses to answer then ask it to do something it's OK with doing. I remembers the prompts you gave it earlier and incorporates them into your innocent request.
