I don't see a lot of any body resigning positions because they think they need to shrink government. I don't think we've ever seen that.

Ah, yeah no that's because both parties like big government, and you get to reward more minions that way.

relative to population, government has been shrinking for decades. Technology has played a role in this. A lot of bureaucracy can and should be automated. and some of it has.

Exactly. Anyone talking about small government that got elected there is yanking chain.

What if we increased the number of people in the House, but actually assigned them work in the federal government in addition to their legislative duties? Like "Be sure to review this bill we are voting on next week, Karen. Also, we need you to pick up a shift over at Health and Human Services. Carl got the flu and we need someone to read through those deliverables for the contract and look for any errors."

Wow, what a nightmare of an elected position that would become!

Shoot, those folks didn't get elected just to work.

They already spend all their time in a call center. Just give them all the help desk tickets.

"Help desk, Senator Cruz. How can I assist you? ... Uh huh. Ok. Is it plugged in? Power on? Check the led, are they green? Did you put paper in it? Ok put paper in. Yup. No problem. Hey, any time. That's why I'm here Tuesday and Thursday. Also, I know I can count on your support for SB-003. Have a great day!"

I do think we need to dramatically increase seats in the house.

I’d like to see 30,000-40,000 per seat.
