I think it was the relationship the family had with towel waiver that had them interested in Auburn. They told VQ that they knew Martinez from him recruiting EB years back. Said they would be in Knoxville for Jr day and probably summer camp and take a wait and see approach with the new staff as they got to know them.
Much has been discussed regarding the Legacy's and their importance (both on the field as well as psychological aspects) to this and future classes. W/ Creamer & TKjr committed, our attention is focused on Bates and the Berry Bros. Along w/ LB, CB is another position of need in'14. Evan is an instinctive, physical Corner. Evan Berry Elliott would be a solid p/u at safety. Elliot Berry
I bet they both know how to play regardless of 40 times and other such measures, but I don't think either are supposed to be the physical freaks Eric is. I'd be more than happy to have both of them regardless of star ranking.
They're both good. They aren't going to walk in and be the best DBs on campus like Eric did, but they're solid SEC starters.
EB was like a top 5 player the year he came out. Comparing anyone to EB -- brothers or not -- will make them look bad.
We need them so that in 25 years or so, when all of these brothers have their own kids we can field an entire secondary of Berries. It will be glorious.
Kpt, if we get these two, I guarantee that word you just invented will catch on. Better get that trademarked.
