Nick Reveiz is also on the Mt. Rushmore of Vol LBs imo. We need some more undersized, slow white (Reveiz is just half white though) walk on LBs with heart, character and daddies money.

A name that must be mentioned is Keith DeLong. Unlike a lot of names on this list, DeLong was a true ILB who had the difficult job of making the calls/adjustments to one of the most complicated defenses ever, the multiple 50 of Ken Donahue.

Some more underrated names that I'd like to mention are Dominique Stevenson, Ben Talley, Anthony Sessions, Jason Mitchell, and Marvin Mitchell.

Kevin Simon is another one. Was pretty good in spite of injuries

He didn't have any cartilage or ligaments left in either knee

Marvin Mitchell was a big linebacker that could move

He played pretty well in 2009 until he blew his knee out

Anthony Sessions is a guy I think gets lost in the shuffle, but was a solid LB for us.

His injuries could easily go into the What Could Have Been thread. As a freshman he stood out on a loaded defense as a guy who had next level ability.

When our LBers can cover backs in the flat or even a TE in a less than 15 yard route, without safeties bailing them out let me know. It’s how Florida has dominated us in wins IMO.

Football was just so different then. Hell, I can remember in 2007 as a HS LB at a massive Tennessee public HS doing angle tackling drills where you didn't get it right until you squared the guy up leading with the crown of your helmet.

Our coaches at the time would tell us "the taxpayers paid $350 for each of your helmets, it is a weapon, and you are going to learn to use it.". Just ridiculous now looking back at it knowing what we've learned about head injuries just within the last 15 years.

"Targeting" was a badge of manhood back then, much less a 15 yard penalty that led to an ejection.
