Thank God we don’t have Ole Miss on the schedule this year.

 

I don't understand where this money is coming from for Ole Miss. If they get Walter Nolen as well.. something is way off. Are they just not gonna pay these guys since they'll be there 1 year? Seems like they'd catch on halfway through the season and just sit out.

 

The guys they are getting are not actually getting NIL offers like people think. They are picking them up cheap. Kiffin has done a good job of finding guys he can grab for a good value. More money is actually getting spent on high school recruiting by most teams and Kiffin has used what he has available to attack the portal. If he can sell the NFL mindset it will work I think. Basically he is thinking getting guys with a few years in a college program is better money spent then a high school kid you mold and potentially lose to the portal at some point.

Up it for sure but in all honesty we have plenty of money, we are just applying it differently.

 

I don't know who is in charge of the war chest or how they do it, but I am not too worried about not dropping large sums on guys with one year of eligibility left. Especially the WR from SCAR who sat while cleared last year (not judging him, just saying from a pay perspective). And we can't set a precedent of upperclassmen asking for more each year unless they are actually game changers (Baron).

So ya, no complaints. Don't know a whole lot anyway.

Short term, Iamaleava is shouldering the team on a level not seen since Peyton Manning. If that works out, it all will. If it doesn't, oh boy.
