This is basically what we are doing. Kiffin is doing the exact opposite. Looking for guys that are 1-2 years tops in his program because he can afford them for that long and they need to be college ready guys. 95% of the big programs are doing what we are doing so it will be interesting to see what way is sustainable.
My guess is that 85-90% of the roster (not counting freshmen) will need to be there from the year before to keep the team standard and culture and then the remainder can be filled in with transfers.
Then this coming year is the shot. Make the playoffs, try and make a little run, and get someone's attention. He'll have the roster and schedule for it.
