The left pressed him to open private fundraisers (one of the few campaigns to do so) and this immediately happens. The far left is a menace.

i'm sick and tired of people with cameras harassing other people, specifically over their political or personal choices. When I am elected I will spend my time trying to enact a law that legalizes deserved ass whippings for those who harrass others. "Why are you pushing me?" [uck fay] you.

This is from a Texas Dem Socialist/Bernie Bro running for congress. Thinks Pete should be hanged and Obama get brain cancer. Yep, these are the good guys.

The left is going to have a hard time. Because I think most of America hates all of the SJW bullshit.

The right can more easily move a little more to the left on the economy easier than the left will be able to get away from the SJW groups they've created on social issues.

The farther left the right gets, the farther left the left gets.

But I'll take that, because that'll still mean we end up left.

    So what's the problem?

I don't think there's much difference between far right and left. I think both are dark places.

Agreed, but if far left drags the middle to "where we want it left" then the left won.

The fight is the middle, man. Do we end up left of center, or right. Or center. The fringe are just the drivers.

It's a really good question. I previously though left of center, but now betting center. People see the poles are equally ugly (very ugly), so I believe they'll largely flee to the center. The country as a whole won't stray very far from center either way.

Doesn't matter. Two forces acting in equal and opposite directions will cancel each other out.

The reason they aren't currently canceling each other out, as they have in the past, is because we're in the middle of a social shift, and we haven't reached equilibrium, yet. But we will, and then they'll die down. Until the next shift.

I disagree with his recent comment on medical care. when 6 dollars worth of insulin is selling for several hundred because you have to have it, you can't just figure it out yourself. Either competition must be added or it must be regulated. The status quo is killing people.

There are a lot of forms of folks campaigning for social justice, all of which get lumped together as SJWs.

It’s worth separating the BS tactics (shout-downs, disagreement = racism, etc.) from the rest.

You seem to see it all as social signaling and an attempt to fit in or shine but there are plenty of folks working for underrepresented groups that are doing it because they see it as necessary and right.

I’m sure both groups annoy some but there are clearly right and wrong approaches at work here.

To be fair that was a partial quote way out of context on its own. He was speaking specifically to people being able to decide which coverage option they want - what they currently have if they like it or Medicare option in which all uninsured would be automatically enrolled. He also has a specific plan for prescription drugs: https://peteforamerica.com/policies/affordable-medicine/

There are a lot of false narratives floating around out there. More lies than truth when it comes to Pete. BTW, I think many of these journalists use partial/out of context quotes intentionally to create viral moments and rile up folks. They'll often come back with full context after damage is already done.

I think almost all of social media is social signaling.

I know there's good people out there doing a lot of good. I want equal opportunity. I hate the equal outcome push.

I do agree that the internet has been a huge game changer in politics and our social lives.

We've never had this much information or voice.
