Smith is freak athlete. Best comparison I could give Charlie is Danny Wuerffel in terms of a combo of size, smarts, arm strength and competitiveness. Not saying he will have that level of success.
I have no opinion. Like any reasonable person who doesn't base their opinion on Rivals stars or amateur analysis, I will judge if he is a good take on his play or lack there of. Plus I'm not a loser who follows recruiting longer than about the 4 minutes I spend looking at the guys we signed the day before in whatever day in Feb.
Wuerffel was a fifth string QB with a noodle arm who went on to win a national championship. Is this our plan?
CAK does not have an early graduation program. They may work with UT to make it happen, but I don't believe Smith would be a candidate either way.
Watching him tonight against grace. On offense, he's fundamentally sound, but there is absolutely no competition. I've actually focused watching him more on defense just to see if there is any aggressiveness. i just don't see it. He's got good size but nothing else stands out about him.
You are correct Cardinal; I love Brett to death but he has to (keep) improving his work ethic, mature and become much more aggressive.
There was a flash or two, especially around the goal lines, but not much all in all. Then again, he's not the first high school senior lineman I've said this about either. Edit - I'm not sure the right word is lazy, because I don't, I just think he's very, very passive.
He is passive and laid back off the court/field, but he is a great, great kid. My only point of reference is Tyson Clabo who plays for the Falcons o-line. I grew up playing basketball and football with him and would have never thought he would have been a starter in the NFL in a million years. He turned himself into a beast in college and hopefully Brett will do the same.
