Seriously, I'm in no way saying Butch is great or good or even above average, but Jimbo is facing off with Dabo and Dave Clawson. The ACC hired better coaches this offseason, though.
Dabo would give Butch a wedgie and take his lunch. The East has been just as much garbage and he hasn't been able to do anything.
Jimbo and Fisher are proof that if you get enough talent, you can win big. Butch has that much talent, this season. He will not next year. This is going to be Butch's best season in his life unless Guarantano is the next DeShaun Watson
Kelly is a very good back, Hurd is a once a decade type. JRM's replacement won't match his production. Phillips and Kongbo should be able to replace Barnett, but both have a lot to prove.
Losing too much not to have a dropoff. We've got all-time studs at CB and DE, our best LB in a long time, the only QB that's been productive under Butch, and probably our top RB leaving.
Definite drop off next year. That's why this is a make or break year for butch. Win big, get a big class and keep it rolling. Or come up short and we're back to square one
Outside of RB we have recruited equal or better talent (on paper). Recruit well and you're gonna lose elite talent eventually. Lose Barnett but McKemzie and Tuttle will he juniors on the interior plus the dozen DEs we've signed JRM is an all time favorite but Kirkland has even more potential IMO. Lose Sutton but return almost everybody else on the backend.
We will still have talent but the whole offense revolves around dobbs and Hurd who will be gone. What I'm saying is if butch doesn't win with this team, he sure as hell won't win with next years team which will create a downward spiral
