if we don't see a spike because of the protests that will be very interesting. i have no doubt masks and distancing inside helps considerably.

I am wondering at what point basically turning a blind eye is going
The first two do for sure. Not sure if Bledsoe does or not.

Then on top of this, there are Detention Centers throughout the state in addition to the county and city jails which have cases.
Tipton County had a sizeable outbreak a couple of weeks ago in their Mason Detention Center.
Now, don't really know but I would suspect the fine members of these institutions are not included in the county census.
If so, this would make the numbers look goofy (as they do) but I cannot find any average population data or capacity of the institutions.

Bledsoe was all driven by the prison there.

That's right. I had my counties mixed up. Was thinking it was Bedford. My bad.

To take it another level, there could be a spike and we may never know if most are asymptomatic. But that would hopefully mean the virus is weakening anyway.

    995 deaths today.

First day other than a Monday or day after holiday we've been under 1,000 deaths since April 1.

    Per Nate Silver

I guess it depends on where you measure the 24 hours from, because I see 1,060 with a few hours left.

Pretty fair indication of the infectious rate per state
% Closed could be iffy depending on how they report their case categories
Tennessee actually does a pretty good job of reporting data

Apparently Nashville will stay in Phase 2 of reopening.

We are staying at Phase 2 as well, to study whether or not this is "a surge" or "the new normal."

Not sure what the difference is, to be honest.

    Me either.

Be curious to see where they are in a week or 2.

Shelby Co. said healthcare capacity is still below 80% most days. I believe the normal range is 70-75%.

I'd like us to stay at Phase 2 for a while, though. I think most of us are relaxed right now, but I think Phase 2 keeps some folks working from home and crowds to a minimum at the least.

Still curious to see what schools will be doing.

Right now we're going to be opening on time with no modifications
