Fires are an instant adrenaline rush. Running into a burning house is even better. Fishing during a hurricane isn't bad either. I want to chase tornadoes.
fracking lowers property values, releases toxic pollutants into the air and water (fact, and oil/gas companies are immune to the Clean Air/Water Acts as of 2005 thanks to Cheney), and can lubricate faults, triggering earthquakes. All this for a few hundred bucks a month for a few years.
