Dooley Red Dog shirts

I just talked to my t-shirt guy. Looking at $15-$20 he was guessing without a final design. Might come in lower. I'm going with the Dooley Red Dog on the front and an 8th Maxim logo on back (pending TD's approval).

What I need:

Color of shirt
TD's approval to use his logo
Highest res image files of logo and Dooley red dog
Tentative order #
Approval of the group on proposed design
Any suggestions from the group.

We'll work out payment/shipping stuff when we get all specifics worked out. I will copy this post in a new thread, and mods can sticky if they feel it warrants that.

What about the other 8th maxim logo...the flag?

 

I think it would be better with one of our skull and crossbones logos. It seems an insult to Nelyland to be on the same shirt with Doofus.

 

I think if we are going to do shirts we should do an 8thmaxim shirt that is some positive about the program, not a downer, even if it is funny and true.

Doesn't using Dooley's likeness pose legal challenges as well, or am I wrong? I don't want to be a spoil sport but I think the 8th's legacy should be more than just being anti-Dooley. For example 'the Cuonzo look' might be a cool shirt.

 

I personally like the idea of something clever/positive over clever/negative as well, but ... meh. The potential downside is that the site becomes labeled a certain way, I suppose.

 

Could come up with a fresh meme then, that addresses that. Dooley is afraid of dogs. Dogs are afraid of Cuonzo. Something along those lines.

 

And thus the 8th Maxim division began....

 

The back should read: "6 wins are precious in Tennessee"

No image of Neyland on the shirt, we'll get in enough trouble using Dooley's.

 

If we don't sell them for a profit and just have them made up for ourselves, there's really nothing anyone can [itch bay] about.

 

And we can always have them available at cost in future batches for members that join up along the way.

Parody is protected, even if for profit. Doesn't this qualify as parody?

 

I guess since he isn't hand drawn in, it isn't.

 

surely we can hand draw him or run his likeness through a filter to make it as such.

 

Just have an image of a red dog with Dooley's hair on it.

Would be classic.

I think a shirt with the red dog and Dooley's hair would be great. Underneath the image just have it say " all about the process".
