Any Seinfeld aficionados recall this storyline? Ever wonder what this might look like in real-life? Watch.
Haven't we already been living this scenario? Hiring Dooley and Butch were the exact opposite of what any sane person would have done.

A. Butch's annual salary + Buyout after next season = ? B. Butch's Buyout Now C. What's the appreciable difference? Solve for "C".
This is straight out of one of my favorite movies as a kid: Stroker Ace. Stroker Ace does everything in his power to get fired by Clyde Torkel. There's even a scene where Ace is speeding around in a rental car with Torkel chasing him. Ace (Burt Reynolds) keeps telling Lugs (Jim Nabors) that, "He's gonna fire me" and Lugs keeps telling Ace, "he ain't gonna fire you." Then, during the last race of the season when Ace is tanking it Torkel goes to the press box and tells the whole world that Stroker Ace was fired. That was right as he dropped the hammer and took home the win and the championship. Of course this is purely fantasy speak because there's no way this side of hell Jones will win any championships here besides the one he makes up in that pea sized brain of his.
