The gop had the winning hand and managed to turn it into a shit show. This just goes to show they're not for small government either, because the DHS is one of the most wasteful and inefficient agencies in Washington. They should have ran against cutting the unneeded department instead of making it about immigration.
I'm going to change my mantra from "never underestimate the ability of a Democrat to squander any advantage" to add Republicans, too.
I guess there is a civil war in the Republican party behind the curtain after all. I'm jealous. The Democrats seem to just be waiting for a Clinton to come along.
I don't think either party is that different at their establishment level. The issue is that there's a growing division in the GOP rank leaning more libertarian which would be a winning platform. The money that buys both parties don't want that, and that's why Bush is getting so much play with the donors.
