Dang, just posted this same sentiment on another thread.

 

Gruden is really tearing it up in Oakland. They got a side show pretty boy, we got us a dang football coach aight.

 

I’ll qualify further to say it was 4 in the regular season. Bowl wins can gtfo.

 

He has 11 USC his first year.

He claims #9 UGA, but that belongs to Dobbs.

 

Those Big 10 bowl wins he got were about as impressive as a win over Vandy.

 

I was at the head of the line for Gruden, but sometimes ya thank God for unanswered prayers.

 

I wouldn’t interpret his lack of success this year in the NFL as an indictment of his college abilities... Spurrier, Pete Carroll (in his first go-around), Saban and Schweet Schlou Holtsch all sucked as NFL coaches...

That said, I’m really, REALLY glad things worked out the way they did. I can’t wait for the postseason ESPN articles about how Tennessee’s coaching search turned up the best hire of the 2018 season! Surely those articles will be forthcoming, right?!??

We got the right guy. Pruitt should definitely get a high grade if we split these last two by all the pundits.

 

You mean when we curb stomp the last two.

 

Nothing would surprise me ATP.

 

We should celebrate this for all eternity as Vol fans. It may become bigger than Arbor Day.

 

I'm happy with Pruitt but would have been a fun ride with Gruden too.

 

In fairness, he and the front office are blowing up that roster to make a run when they move to Vegas.

 

Yeah, I am not too surprised it is happening. Will be interesting to see if this is their 1989 Cowboy squad or if it is just blowing it up to blow it up and they founder for 5 years before he is jettisoned.
