I seem to remember that you are a betting man. Lets assume that he is there 4 years and Butch is at UT for the next 4 years. Which University has better odds of winning one or more Conference Championship(s). Which University has better odds of winning one or more National Championship(s)
I mean, Harbaugh may not win a title there, but they will be a top 5-10 program again sooner rather than later. I like to joke about him being Marv levy, but dude is a helluva coach.
This, all day, this. I've gained a ton of respect for Michigan in this process. They've been irrelevant for far too long for a program of that magnitude and now, because of one ballsy investment--with far more upside than down, IMO--has them at the center of conversations over the entire country. That's an immediate PR return. While I'm still not 100% convinced that Butch can't be the guy, this development makes me like him less just out of sheer jealousy of Michigan. ...assuming, of course, that he signs.
When he rings the bell 3 or 4 times at Michigan he will have proven his point. What he did as Stanford is one of the three or four best jobs in the history of college football. Peyton Interception played at a traditional power and consistently found a way to lose the games that mattered most.
Stephen Hargis, Chatty Times. He's the only one who was saying it then, his editor checked his sources and publicly backed him up - and neither have ever backed down from it. There were a few more, national guys.
