Kind of hard to judge by his first appearance with the club; it is my understanding that he met them in Orlando. I hope he has a long and prosperous career than then pumps most of his earnings back into his hometown.

Not guaranteed. That's why he keeps getting traded. Unguaranteed money is essentially a salary cap tax shelter.

 

Pretty sure there's a big element of the salary being pro rated. I find it hard to believe Cleveland gave Hopson the equivalent of a $14 mil contract.

 

I don't pretend to understand how all of that works. What happened with Cleveland makes no sense outside of whatever specialized accounting that happens on NBA payrolls.

I do know that with Buckner a "player development coach" at Houston, he probably has a better shot of making a career out of the NBA as a Rocket than he does anywhere else.
