IF Barnes leaves, who do you want?

Not really excited about Cronin—I get that making the tournament every year is better than not, but if we thought Barnes was a tournament underachiever...

I nearly gagged when he chirped about "We're going to give glory to God" in one of his post-game speeches. It was the most transparently phony thing I've seen said by a coach in quite some time, but I know the VN crowd types, here and at Auburn, lapped it up.

 

coaches got to keep it real on that stuff. some do, many don't. but that's not just a sports thing.

 

Isn't this last part the most important for why he's not highly thought of around here?

 

People can handle a lot of things... a hypocrite isn't one of them.

 

I'd handle it for somewhat regular conference championships with a Final Four/Title run sprinkled in every so often.

The additional problem is that Pearl's system is inconsistent. One off shooting night, and you're bounced from the tournament.

Tyler Smith felt the need to buy a gun to protect himself from Ramar.

He bought a boat and had "team parties" on the lake with it. A 50 year old man doesn't need to let 19 to 22 year old females get drunk on his boat if he's the coach of the basketball team.

He gifted us with Stephen Pearl, known douche canoe.

He's managed to replace one FBI arrested assistant with another assistant under FBI investigation.

He's also one of the fakest human beings to ever walk the earth.

Honestly, if he chews his son out for trying to lead a 3 on 1 fast break against state and screwing it up and we win that game, I probably overlook all the other stuff.

And let us not forget his completely idiotic, bumbling response to a secondary violation that ballooned into a show cause because he's too [uck fay]ing stupid to tell the truth. He was more worried about his image as the last honest man in collegiate sports. His assistants, who didn't deserve it, were thrown under the bus by the bronzed one to try and save his image.

He's a sorry piece of shit.

 

Two things I will take up for him for

1. He has never missed a payment to UT cancer center.

2. His wife is bat-shit crazy, always has been, and, well, I get it.
