It has been a Keystone Kops type investigation and response by the NFL.

Apparently while Goodell talked to his gf, Ray Rice was present and sitting in the room with them.

Law enforcement says they sent the video three months ago and they have a 12 second voicemail confirming such. He may be in trouble.

I'm not sure how to explain it, if you don't already see it. It is like trying to describe color to a blind person.

If you punch him in the head hard enough, you can explain that red is the color of that flash he just saw.

No, he isn't in trouble, nor will he be.

His termination / resignation won't receive any serious consideration.

People seem to think that he's operating on independent ops, amongst 32 of the biggest egomaniacs on Earth.

egomaniacs who care an awful lot what people think. otherwise they wouldn't overpay for an NFL franchise in the first place. it's the ultimate ego *******.

It never gets old seeing the hard-ass person that is a stickler for the rules and seems to enjoy handing out harsh punishments with seeming glee get busted doing shady shit. These white knight types are so quick to point to splinters in the eyes of others while ignoring the planks in their own. No doubt they are overcompensating. The revelation of these haughty holier than thou folks being more crooked pieces of shit that the folks they lorded over is as reliable as the sun rising in the east.

You think Goodell isn't disposable to them? That they care?

I disagree, just today before the news broke that the NFL received the video Adam Schefter reported that Goodell sent a memo to all owners stating that they had never seen the video of what occurred inside the elevator. (https://twitter.com/adamschefter/status/509776656488099840) People with egos of that size don't like to be lied to and I could see them being pissed off enough to fire him.

The NFL has a fleet of Michael Clayton/Ray Donovan types on payroll. Anyone who thinks they hadn't seen the video is lost. It's instructive the copy TMZ has is a cellphone recording of the original as it plays. They thought they had destroyed/suppressed all copies and got caught flat footed.
