Anytime the phrases "the cops laughed" and "the mom's not too bright" (or something liek them) are used when describing a situation, I expect it to blow over.
I have only once, and that was after climbing into the back of a pickup with someone dunker than me behind the wheel. A gentle ride through the pasture almost immediately turned into donuts. It's amazing how quickly adrenaline can clear your head when it kicks in. I fully believed I was going to die that night.
even money victim is an athlete or maybe even a "high level recruit" . . . two felonies (vandalism and theft) and a misdemeanor . . . under tennessee law, even an "offensive touching" constitutes and assault. and more, no physical contact is necessary if the victim is placed "in reasonable fear of imminent bodily injury." assault cases are fun cases to try.
