Payne was just a freshman. A little early to make the rationalization he wasn't seeing the field. It's not like we are overflowing with DB talent at this moment, either.

 

I would say there's a trimming of fat taking place but we're already lean so...

 

Gotta make room for all the 4-5 star recruits coming this year
