Knoxville native dies base jumping

Don't know if anyone knew her. I didn't know her personally, but I know a lot of people who did. Sad deal.

 

Unfortunate. It's crazy that it wasn't the jump, but complications from the landing/equipment that led to her death.

 

Never is the jump that is fatal, usually complications from landing.

 

If you gotta go, (and at some point we all do) better to go doing what you love...

 

When I am ready I need 4 Brazilian models, a boatload of Viagra, 20 bottles of Macallan, a secluded island beach mansion and then just let nature take its course.

 

More to huge waves than her equipment, no?

Great point. Falling is nothing. The sudden stop is brutal.

 

The pressure changes associated with falling great distances can also cause problems.

 

The real problem is when your head goes through your butthole

 

Replace "Brazilian models" with the Denver Broncos offensive line and you've just described NYY's fantasy.

 

Base jumping though. If you're talking 747 altitude, abdolutely.

The pressure changes just going to a depth of 100 ft scuba diving can play hell on your sinuses and ears though.
