Long story short: my father has been having severe back and joint pain, so they had him get an MRI and the doctor says he has some weakness in and growth on the bones. They are concerned that his prostate cancer spread to the bones and are ordering some tests. what doesn't make sense to me is that he had the prostate cancer over 10 years ago and it was in a very preliminary stage. is it possible it could take 10 years for it to reappear? I've attempted googling this to no avail. edit: also he's had annual physicals checking his psa levels and they have been fine
doctor was concerned, but it's my dad's pain doctor. I guess he probably sees it somewhat often, but I wouldn't think he's an expert. my father in typical fashion asked almost no questions too.
My Father-in-Law is that way. "What did the doctor say about your elbow?" "Uhhh, it's OK." "Dad, it is swollen like a grapefruit." "Yeah." I hope all turns out to be nothing, Droski. Bone cancers are ugh.
Hope things are well, but from family experience I might be able to half ass answer you, Cancers dont as much "go away" as go dormant, some people will have no issues forever after dealing with it, some will have a recurrence in a few months, and everything in between. It's an evil god damned disease.
