It's a beautiful night in the Burgh, makes me nervous knowing we gotto win one more against the Reds.
I'm at the point I'd wish they'd go back to two divisions per league, two division winners get a bye, and have 4 wild card teams play 3 game sets at team with better record.
That's not what I meant. Just saying winning the division avoids the risk of losing a play in game but this also allows more teams the chance at postseason than the old way of having to win the division.
I actually like that idea a lot. The downside to this idea is that it might reduce/ eliminate current rivalries and maybe increase travel distances for teams. Another downside is that with the current amount of teams, one division in each league will have one more team than the other division. However in my opinion, neither of those downsides are that huge if they wanted to follow that route. How long ago did they only have two divisions?
