Random college football thread

If our 2 loses are close to highly ranked teams I think we sneak in. Just can't lose to an unranked team, especially at home.

 

The Ole Miss loss to UK at home may end up being very important for Tennessee down the stretch. I pointed out that there are even scenarios where an undefeated Tennessee could be left out of the SEC championship, and the worst case was 4 undefeated SEC teams because then it would be possible someone could draw a short straw for the playoffs (I know that sounds far fetched, but there were plausible scenarios). No matter what happens, Tennessee will have to have a hand in its own fate now. Meaning Tennessee could get screwed in some sort of multi 1-loss SEC team scenario, but at least it will involve a loss.

 

I actually think we’re more likely to get in with a loss to an unranked team and a top ten win than with two top ten losses and no top 25 wins. Either way, I think we sneak in at 10-2, but it’d really help if Oklahoma started doing some winning and/or other bubble teams do a lot of losing.

 

Sam Pittman looks like a guy that knows his dream is almost over. I feel bad for the guy, he is as good as they come.

IU is likely already bowl eligible by this weekend and ranked in the top 25. Hell of a hire in Cignetti. They need to do everything to keep him and build the football program.

 

Their floor at this points seems like 10-2 is a real possibility. I don’t know if their schedule strength is good enough to get them in the playoff if they lose to OSU and Michigan though.

 

But Michigan is beatable

 

Unless the Big 10 keeps calling phantom offsides calls to give them the game.
