O'Leary went 12-1 and 9-4 before the winless season.

Because things aren't linear like that in CFB. With regards to Tennessee and Heupel and why it has worked, he simply energized the program. It's fun to play ball here for the first time in at least 10 years. We've seen some points scored since then for sure, but with this team there is cohesion from the guys on the sideline to the guys on the field. We play to our actual strengths, not one the coach has predetermined our strengths to be. And something that also should be taken into account is that maybe this is an offense that runs better the more talent you place in it. Like you might be able to uncover a Bru or Ced type at a UCF but they aren't gonna be 6'3 220 lbs and have breakaway speed. And you aren't going to find burners like Hyatt, Payton and VJJ with the height that those guys had. And if you got lucky and found those guys, you're not 3-4 deep like we are with them so they are an injury away from it affecting results. Keyton has always been a bit part guy in this offense but he made the play of the game and season so far when he had to step up and take the reins at that position, and overall had a great game. We have a lot of pieces that you don't get even at a UCF which can pick the many kids that fall through the cracks down in Florida.
