The Auburn hire is looking better than ours. Gus knows his SEC cred better than Botch (Jay Graham is a gimmie while the D coaches are Bulldog retreads)

Wasn't the line about why we couldn't get Rodney again that his wife didn't like Knoxville? What in God's name would she like about Auburn? Answer - nothing. Which is why we should have been able to hire him three times over by now.

1) whenever someone mentions the wife, assume it's BS.

2) He did play for Auburn, maybe he sees this as a good time to go back.

 

Yep, if there was any truth to this, no married man would ever take a job at Mississippi State.

 

You can start the Mark Richt Death Watch. This will do for Richt what it did for Fulmer.

 

How about the Jimbo Fisher death watch? He now has Jeremy Pruitt and Sal Sunseri running his defense.

I wouldn't hire either given the choice. If Gruden wasn't an option, I wanted Charlie Strong but I'd roll the dice with Butch Jones over Malzahn if those were my only two choices.

 

Malzahn has won everywhere.

 

One head coaching stint at arky st puts him above Jones? I'm not happy with Jones as UT's coach but compared to malzahn? So u wouldn't be raising hell if we hired malzahn?

 

I would have been disappointed and angry, but not dumbfounded. I would have at least been able to imagine a scenario where he could give the program a bounce.

 

But a guy who has actually won championships doesn't get a fair shake because we didn't land Gruden? That makes no sense.
