good news then mason
If Chaney leaves its over, there is no way Tennessee can keep Dooley.
We're basically in purgatory until Dooley is out of there.
Dooley and Chaney were close. If Chaney sees this as hopeless, I see it as a sign of a few things.
1. He has lost all hope in Dooley.
2. Grades/ drugs could be a real issue with bray.
They're too much talent coming back for him to just want to walk away.
Well, Sunseri looks like a no go..
Wait a moment... He hasn't declined yet.
After taking him to the Olive Garden in Turkey Creek and McKay's for some bargain CD shopping... and this is how he repays us!!!
What's the latest on Sunseri?
Back in Alabama after interviewing this afternoon. --Per Hubbs.
Wasn't going to accept today anyway.--Per Rucker.
Will talk to Nick Saban before giving us an answer.--Per Rucker.
Got to get a signed permission slip from Saban for the field trip.
It's about time for a love letter to surface for Sal Sunseri. "You'll be our hero, Sal...."
If it's Sunseri, why interview Navy guy?
Combo db coach...but if Sal says no who knows...
Rumors are maybe co-DCs, Sunseri working with LBs and Green working within the secondary, possibly specifically a safeties coach. Also been rumored the DC job is Sunseri's, he'll work with LBs and Green comes in as safeties coach only.
IMO, I think you keep interviewing until Sunseri says yes. Don't let go to Alabama thinking he can play the university. Make him want it and agree to it. Others have alluded to it and I agree that it seems likely he could be using this to get more money, possibly more authority at Bama.
There are also rumblings of Saban bolting back to try the NFL again with Tampa Bay. Can just see Smart getting the HC gig, Sunseri getting DC and then Tennessee is left without their DC hopeful and Hart's supposed replacement plan for Dooley. Wouldn't that suck?
Surely to goodness another NFL team won't make a run at Saban so soon, especially one that close to the Dolphins.
I somehow would be ok with Saban leaving Alabama.
It would be a great day for UT and the rest of the SEC if this happened.
