Sim City

Anyone else giving this a try? I am going to start it tonight.

 

Played the original.

 

Original was awesome. Nuclear meltdowns are bad.

 

Played the original on DOS. Also played Duke Nuke 'em on DOS.

 

I have it for my ipad. Got old fast. Everyone's always [itch bay]ing about something, and I always run out of space.

 

It's gotten egged so far by a bunch of people. Alot of that coming from the fact that you have to be connected to a server to even play this game. And also for the fact that the actual wait times for getting into games have apparently been absurdly long.

Good guy EA.

 

I loved 1-4, can't justify paying $60 for the new one though.

 

I don't get how they get away with this stuff.

 

Same thing happened with diablo 3 at launch.

 

I can say that while I like the planning and mapping part of this game, the online only part is such a pain in the ass. Took me an hour to login to the server. Add to the fact that the city you build stays on the server it was built on, it makes the game unplayable if your server is full.

Thanks again to EA for ****ing up another good franchise game with this bullshit. Not everyone enjoys online play for certain games. This game is better as a stand alone game.

 

I don't understand why EA and other companies are regressing gameplay with this server-based, online only horseshit.

 

I think they're too worried about piracy than gamer satisfaction.

 

Yeah, it's server based to "fight" piracy. Good gameplay takes a backseat to the almighty dollar these days, unfortunately. Especially in the case of a company like EA.

Of course, this should surprise no one.

 

I paid for a game then downloaded it illegally just so I wouldn't have to log in three damn times to play it.

Is it a game of your choosing? I didn't read super close but don't remember if it specified.

 

They haven't specified yet, but my assumption is yes. Otherwise, it is an empty gesture.
