Really think what it would be like if he had been hired. 50% of the fan base says f-it. 25% of the remaining are doing nothing but trying to undermine him as best as they can and make him fail. God it would have been gloriously awful.
What I keep saying is this... What Schiano knew can be up for debate. What can’t be debated is how he handled players medical records and other things to the press proves he’s an unethical bastard and doesn’t belong as the head coach of a football program, let alone an SEC program as prestigious as UT.
Even if he had no idea, you still have the accusation that he did. You don't hire him. You especially don't do it at a place that just recently had that whole crap with revamping our sexual assault protocol. After all that, we're supposed to put a guy in charge that may have looked the other way from child rape in order to not slow down his career?
I dont believe with all the coaches, trainers, players, etc, that Schiano didn't have discussions about Sandusky.
Yes, exactly. I said the same thing. His overall shadiness and willing to throw players under the bus is an immediate disqualifier. I hate the national pundits telling about the great hire he would've been and all that nonsense. Do they ever say a coach is a bad hire?
Last I checked there were a lot of job openings this past year and he is still sitting at Ohio State.
The narrative was that he turned down an NFL job because it "wasn't a good fit." Can't remember which.
He's an assistant under Meyer at OSU years removed from being a head coach for a reason. It's hard to "fit" when the phone isn't ringing.
