I was rooting for you guys, but I'm not sad to see John Harbaugh and Ed Reed get a ring. Especially because I still think Jim Harbaugh and Colin Kaepernick could both end up with multiple when it's all said and done.
Yes. Holding/block in the back could be called on every kick. Holding could be called on every offensive play. How many offensive PI calls...er "rubs"...aren't called? How many times are offensive linemen allowed to line up in the backfield without an illegal formation call? I hate officials, but I would rather them let 'em play than be heavy-handed. I was ambivalent as to who won the game, fwiw.
Agreed. The ball was completely uncatchable. it would have been a travesty bailout of the highest order to have called PI on that. And btw if Jim Harbaugh was a .500 coach he'd be well known as the biggest ass in sports.
understood, but if you are going to call that at the end of the super bowl i expect it to be very obvious.
I have no problem with the call. They let the DBs get away with a lot all night long both ways. I can see how there is a case for it to be made, but given how it was called all night, I'm not surprised it wasn't. The last sequence of offensive play calls was awful, period.
does the fade ever work? i don't understand running a play intended to be a low INT % call when you have to score a TD and it's 4th down. Makes sense if you can tie with a field goal.
