Brad Stevens a pipe dream for IU in my opinion. So is Scott Drew which is the other big name be tossed around. Rick Pitino would be absolutely hilarious and I support if for no other reason than the banter. I doubt they really go that route though. Honestly, I don’t have a clue what they will do. I was excited about Archie and figured he could find some success, and that didn’t work out. The tournament being canceled last year really did him in, since they were probably going to make. It might have even bought him next year too. But at the end of the day, the boosters ponied up for the buyout so he’s gone.
That’s what I posted a few weeks ago. I know that he’s 68, and maybe some baggage with how it ended in Cleveland, but he’s a legit great coach.
I think some of that buy out will be offset by whatever job he gets next, so that probably helped Dolson (and his boosters) make the decision. Or at least made it easier, as I don’t think he really had a choice, but it’s hard to justify that amount in a pandemic. I’d really like to know who privately funded it.
The Cook's could stroke a check like that and not think twice. Not sure if it was them though as I don't think they have given much lately.
Wonder how much familiarizing himself with Assembly Hall and Bloomington Chris Beard has been able to do.
Damn, VCU out of the tournament for covid and the announcers say how sorry they feel for the coach, not a damn thing about the players.
